Living many of my days where I do in Britain, walking amid its plethora of sacred spaces is a rare privilege not available to many people. When one is in physical contact with these sites you feel a heightened sense of intimacy with the invisible realms of our reality; indeed, you often feel you are being watched by the ancestors who, in a certain form, are still here.

These temples take on many guises: from the picture perfect Stonehenge to the enigmatic standing stones of Northern Scotland; from the humble holy wells of Cornwall to the towering Gothic cathedrals of Salisbury and Wells. Yet at every site there is the inescapable feeling that they are greater than the sum of their parts, and your senses become aware of forms and processes which are invisible to conscious states of perception.

In producing this documentary I hope to transfer the experience and understanding to those who have yet to visit majestic temples such as Avebury stone circle or Cornwall's Chun Quoit; if you have already experienced them, may this be a reminder of why you were drawn in the first place. But above all it is my wish that their practical magic is conveyed, making you aware that these sites are as relevant today as they were 8000 years ago, and that the principles used by our ancestors can just as easily be applied in our modern, hectic lives.
